Greetings! Rambling on, for this newsletter, will be my (Andrea) task. So, here it goes...First, thanks again to all of you! Your enthusiasm, encouragement, and support have been incredible! We sincerely hope that you visit often, even if it is just to chat or sit and have a cup of coffee (or a diet soda). We also appreciate all of your thoughts and suggestions and we hope that you continue to offer them! Okay, enough mushy stuff!
As March roars in, we are busy working on our cooking class schedule. Our goal this month is to broaden our offerings for the classes, which, I might add, is going very well. We have several wonderful, generous people who have agreed to share their heritage through cooking! This months schedule will include Filipino and Pakistani foods classes and a few others. So, take these opportunities to expand your knowledge of cooking, learn about other cultures, and enjoy a wonderful variety of foods with home cooks like yourself.

I'm sure that you remember the mention of private parties. When we first started, we agreed to do some classes for some smaller, private groups of people. Those first private classes were so much fun we decided to advertise them. After the holidays, these private classes took off! We hosted several groups and held classes ranging from appetizers to sweets. They were a blast! So, needless to say, we have realized that there may be a niche here to fill! More appropriatley, we are going to call them Cooking Parties and we will have different menus to choose from. Here the scoop: Get a group of at least four people together and give us a call to set up a date and time. Then, all you need to do is decide what to cook. No shopping. No cleaning. Our kitchen. Your party! You and your group can just show up, relax, cook, laugh, eat, visit, enjoy....and finally, go home. No dishes! As of right now, the menu options include: Italian-Soup to Tiramisu, Spanish Spark, Caribbean Pleasures, and Chocolate Bliss. If none of these appeal to you, we will find something that will!
So, in closing, things are going fabulously and we are very excited about our ideas for 2009!

Happy New Year!

Hi Everyone! This is Tiffany, and this month we are launching our first newsletter here at My Sister's Kitchen so that we can share some insight into us and our store.

First off, I want to say that I am not a writer. I am more of a talker. And, as I was contemplating this little blurb and what I wanted to say, I was all hung up on how it was going to sound and what should be in the body and the salutation was freaking me out, and how do you end succinctly? So, if you are an English major or a grammar fanatic, I'm sorry. This is going to be an exercise in patience for you, because I am going to write like I talk.

That said, we here at My Sister's Kitchen want to tell you how much we appreciate all of the kindness, encouragement and support that we have received from you the customer and the community! THANK YOU!

Now for a little history. If you haven't been in or haven't met Andrea and I, we are sisters-in-law. We named
the store My Sister's Kitchen because we didn't think My Sister-in-Law's Kitchen had that same warm, homey feel. Yes, we do like each other and we do get along.. I know, surprising isn't it? But, we do. We started this crazy adventure a year ago. And, here we are....living the dream. We opened our doors on Sept. 13th and haven't had time to look back! It has been a whirlwind for us, and we are having the best time.

With the holiday season over, and as we go forward into 2009, we are looking to bring a few more lines into our inventory. Tea being a big one. If you have comments or suggestions please let us know. We are working on that line as I type. Or if you have any thoughts on other things you'd like to see here at My Sister's Kitchen please let us know, we love to hear your suggestions.

Oth
er things we are ramping up are the Cooking Classes,Bridal Registry (yes, we have it... get in here brides!!), and Private Parties. We have had quite a few private parties now and they are a great time! Great food and good friends are an instant recipe for fun! Where else can you learn to cook something new, eat and then leave the mess? (maybe your mom's... but, of course that might strain the relationship!) Heck, bring Mom in and take a class with her!

Ok, so now it's the end, and that really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I survived, and hopefully you
gained a little insight into My Sister's Kitchen.

Please keep us in mind for all of your cooking/baking needs!

Come in and see us soon!

Welcome to our Store's Blog

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to our store's blog! We thought that this blog would be a great opportunity to stay connected with our customers and the community. In addition to advertising the latest events and classes that will be taking place at My Sister's Kitchen, we will also be touching on various topics that may be helpful to you in your own kitchen. Our favorite thing about this blog is that you can reply to our posts. Please share your thoughts, ideas, and solutions with us. Also, please let us know if there are products that you would like to see in the store. By sharing our ideas and hearing yours, we hope to make cooking, and this blog, fun!

Let us introduce ourselves, the "sisters", Tiffany Ausdemore and Andrea Robbins. Our love for food, family, and fun, facilitated My Sister's Kitchen. What was once a "what if" has now snowballed into an actual store! As mothers, we know that cooking can sometimes be a chore. So, it is our hope that our passion for food and fun in the kitchen will soon be yours!
